UK: Employment Update - August 2011
9 August 2011
Welcome to the August 2011 edition of Employment News in Brief.
In this edition we examine two new codes: a code of conduct for executive search firms in relation to the issue of board gender diversity and a code of practice in relation to the use of interns.
The implications of a Supreme Court ruling in relation to employment status and the relevance of contractual terms are explored and finally we report on a case that clarifies that sick leavers can carry forward accrued holiday without expressly requesting the leave during the holiday year to which it relates.
