Daniel is a founding partner and Managing Partner of Clifford Chance Badea.
In over 30 years of legal practice in an international legal environment, including in the City of London, Daniel has been involved in numerous groundbreaking finance, capital markets, M&A and project finance transactions, including all major privatisations of Romanian companies, and in complex white collar/strategic risk management cases.
Daniel is a founding member of the Romanian Education Trust, a non-profit organisation designed to support the further education of Romanian graduates in the top MBA schools in the world; he is also member of the Board of Save the Children Romania and, respectively, of the Board of Aspen Institute Romania.
- Advised a client in a due diligence exercise regarding a potential financing target in the commodities sector which was involved in a complex set of litigation proceedings in multiple jurisdictions (including Romania) regarding potential fraud and misappropriation of key assets of the target
- Advised a major Romanian business in a complex risk management issue, resulting from the indictment of key personnel of the company for serious offences.
- Advised a major Romanian financial institution in connection with historical claims associated with entities it had acquired.
- Advised major domestic and European companies in various sanctions-related matters as a result of EU sanctions imposed after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
