M.E. Bultemeier represents clients in white collar criminal defense and related matters, including government and internal investigations and parallel litigation. M.E. represents clients in sanctions, anti-money-laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, and corruption-related matters before the US Department of Justice, the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Department of Commerce.  M.E. also supports clients on all phases of civil litigation.

  • Advising a multinational consumer goods company on litigation and enforcement risks related to goods imported into the United States.
  • Advising a leading international financial institution on the legal risks of doing business with countries and entities allegedly involved in violations of international humanitarian law.
  • Advising a multilateral institution with respect to a litigation preparedness and risk mitigation project with respect to ESG third-party claims following the Jam v IFC decision.
  • Representing a major Middle East financial institution in Department of Justice proceedings related to money laundering.
  • Preparing a comprehensive analysis of US legal risk for a Chinese chemicals company, including criminal, civil, and litigation risks. 
  • Advising a large multinational Latin American firm on multi-jurisdictional Department of Justice FCPA investigation.
  • Representing a major Scandinavian bank in a complex cross-border internal investigation.
  • Pro Bono:
    • Assisting with preparation of a human rights analysis of the United 2026 host city bids for the FIFA World Cup to provide an independent review of proposed human rights policies and practices.
