Daniel Thomson specialises in commercial litigation and international arbitration, including in the fields of Public International Law and Business and Human Rights
Daniel has advised clients, including corporates, financial institutions, national governments and governing bodies, on legislative and regulatory matters involving climate litigation, soft law dispute resolution, international trade negotiations, and international human rights law.
Daniel has worked in Clifford Chance's London and Paris offices and has undertaken a secondment to the Financial Regulation team of a global investment bank.
Daniel is admitted as a Solicitor-Advocate (Civil Proceedings) in the Courts of England & Wales. He supports the firm's pro bono efforts through the Refugee Law Clinic, among other initiatives.

• Monitoring the legislative development of and advising on the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive and the Forced Labour Ban Regulation.
• Advising on international and regional business and human rights obligations and responsibilities for a national sporting federation.
• Advising a major bank in relation to a complaint made against it to the UK’s OECD National Contact Point.
• Advising an individual in a human rights case on appeal on constitutional grounds before the Privy Council and the Supreme Court of the Bahamas.
• Advising an NGO on the process of removing signatory states from a treaty-based international organization.
