Charlotte regularly advises clients on high-stakes, multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes as well as regulatory investigations and enforcement. Charlotte also advises on competition and antitrust matters. 

  • Advising a European investment management firm on multi-jurisdictional proceedings (Hong Kong, the Netherlands and the BVI), arising from a dispute with a former Chinese joint venture partner involving a Hong Kong-listed Cayman company
  • Advising a multinational insurer on issues arising from alleged misselling of investment products, involving internal inquiries, regulatory engagement and related litigation, including a wide-ranging investigation into client onboarding and due diligence
  • Acting for the Hong Kong Competition Commission in the first enforcement action before the Competition Tribunal under the Second Conduct Rule
  • Advising an international private bank on a Hong Kong Monetary Authority regulatory investigation involving suspected anti-money laundering contraventions, including issues relating to customer due diligence and ongoing monitoring obligations
  • Advising Hong Kong-listed companies on Listing Rules compliance, related regulatory enquiries and investigations, including connected transactions, internal controls, management oversight and directors’ duties
