Two Clifford Chance lawyers have been recognised at the Concurrences Antitrust Writing Awards, an annual global awards programme celebrating excellence in antitrust and competition law scholarship.
Deepaloke Chatterjee (Senior Associate, London) and Valia Aravantinou Zafeiri (Associate, Brussels) were awarded for their article “The Signalling Effect: Assessing EU Antitrust Risk in Public Communications and Earnings Calls.” The article examines how statements made in public communications, including earnings calls and other investor‑facing disclosures, may give rise to antitrust risk under EU competition law. The article also discusses whether sophisticated AI and legal tech tools could drive future EU antitrust enforcement. Chatterjee attended the ceremony in Washington, DC on 24 March 2026 to accept the award.
The awards, organised by Concurrences in collaboration with the George Washington University Competition Law Center, recognise outstanding academic and business articles that contribute to competition advocacy and thought leadership worldwide.
This recognition highlights the strength of Clifford Chance’s global antitrust practice and its continued focus on delivering practical, forward‑looking insights for clients navigating a complex antitrust environment and nuanced competition law issues.
