Global Law Firm Clifford Chance has won the 'Project of the Year' category for the second year running at the IILPM Annual Global Awards 2023. This award recognises the work of the global Legal Project Management (LPM) team on successfully completing a stand-out project over the past 12 months.
The winning project was our Clifford Chance team advising the export credit agencies (ECAs) and lenders on the financing of the construction and operation of the 1,022MW Hai Long offshore wind farm project in Taiwan, which is the first offshore wind farm in Taiwan to be banked on the basis of the new corporate power purchase regime and the largest non-recourse offshore wind project financing to date in the region.
A cross-border team across Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, and London advised the 7 export credit agencies (ECAs) and more than 15 commercial banks on the financing of the project. And feedback from the IILPM is a wonderful accolade for the Firm's LPM capability overall: "The judging panel was impressed by how the team managed what was clearly a very large and complex project."
Partners, Ross Howard and Florian Mahler comment:
" Our Legal Project Managers work alongside lawyers and clients to handle the most complicated stages of legal operations, turning complexity into clarity. In this project, as with many other others across the firm, the Legal Project Manager Debby Ratnasari's contribution were recognised as outstanding and we truly believe the deal team would not have been able to deliver the project without Debby's involvement. Debby deserves special recognition for the service, quality, and commitment she has delivered and we are delighted to win this accolade."
