Clifford Chance is proud to have advised on six International Tax Review Award winning deals, including four announced on Thursday night at a five-star ceremony at the Savoy Hotel.
Our tax team was recognised for its work on four impact deals:
- Atlantia, ACS's €16.5bn acquisition of Abertis
- Unibail-Rodamco's US$24.8bn acquisition of Westfield
- CME's £3.9bn acquisition of NEX Group
- BBVA on Cerberus's €5bn acquisition of BBVA's real estate business.
International Tax Review's yearly impact deals recognise a number of high-value transactions across EMEA that represent transformational shifts in development among a variety of industries and regions.
The firm was also shortlisted for National Tax Firm of the Year in Europe, Belgium, Italy, Spain, the UK and the Netherlands.
Our client, José María Vallejo of BBVA, joined us at our table and was awarded European In-house Tax Director of the Year.
The wins follow the firm's success at the ITR Asia Tax Awards for our work on Unibail-Rodamco's US$24.8bn acquisition of Westfield and China Tower's US$6.9 billion IPO.
The annually held International Tax Review (ITR) European Tax Awards celebrate the best tax work across the EMEA region. Firms and in-house tax teams across 26 countries compete to win awards. The full list of winners and shortlist can be found here.
