Coronavirus: UK Insolvency Reforms Published
20 May 2020
On 20 May the Government published the Corporate Insolvency and Governance Bill to introduce reforms to the existing insolvency and companies legislation. The Bill introduces both temporary emergency measures and permanent measures. It is hoped that these measures will provide distressed businesses and their directors with some welcome relief during these unprecedented times and also offer a sound basis for being able to restructure in the future, whilst at the same time balancing the rights and interests of their stakeholders in safeguarding their investments and credits.
