People development, inclusion and wellbeing

At Clifford Chance we celebrate good work that boosts our energy and wellbeing. Our bright minds work together in a dynamic, collaborative and flexible environment that promotes our ability to sustainably stretch, grow and achieve for our clients.

Working in a high-performance environment can be demanding. To ensure that everyone at Clifford Chance can continually thrive, our wellbeing strategy focuses on building healthy ways of working into the fabric of our firm.

We're driving towards a culture of wellbeing with one clear vision and five key enablers.

Our Global Partner for Talent, Chinwe Odimba-Chapman says...

"When people thrive they are able to deliver their best to our clients, as colleagues and in their communities. As a responsible business we recognise our role in creating a working environment that enables our people to be healthy, well and energised. Through listening to our people to understand what really matters to them, our global wellbeing strategy takes sustainable steps to protect and enhance wellbeing throughout our firm."

Bigger than us

We recognise that thriving in law requires all of us to come together - as colleagues, as teams, as a firm and as an industry.

Clifford Chance is proud to be a founding member of the Global Business Collaboration for Better Workplace Mental Health, the first global business-led initiative of its kind designed to advocate for – and accelerate – positive change for mental health in the workplace.

We are a signatory of the Mindful Business Charter, a practical framework that encourages us to be more thoughtful about the impact we have on each other , in the US we are a signatory of the American Bar Association Well-Being Pledge and in the UK we are a member of the National Forum for Health and Wellbeing at Work.

Empowering everyone to thrive

Bolstering our key enablers, and in addition to our culture at Clifford Chance, we deliver a range of initiatives and networks to engage and encourage our firm to deliver good work. We host learning opportunities and sessions with experts, support an internal Mental Health Champions network and enjoy a range of holistic support pathways and excellent office facilities across our global footprint.

Our Global Head of Wellbeing and People Experience, Charles Alberts says...

"We want everyone to have a great experience working at Clifford Chance, feeling energised, well and ready for whatever the day brings. We're not standing still – we're listening to what our people want and evolving our offering all the time. We're committed to helping everyone be their best selves both in the firm and by working with the industry to drive positive change. Watch this space!"
