Competition Law insight article "Immoveable objects: the evolution of object restrictions after the Cartes Bancaires case" by Daniel Schwarz*

Following the European Court of Justice’s landmark decision in Cartes Bancaires, the European courts have provided clarification on the meaning of restrictions of competition “by object” under Article 101 TFEU. This article reviews the European courts’ judgements in Cartes Bancaires, Bananas, Maxima Latvija and the opinion of the Advocate General in Power Transformers to critically assess their implications for the interpretation of object restrictions.
