Michael Van Arsdall

Michael Van Arsdall is a partner in the firm's Antitrust Group. Michael's practice involves antitrust counseling on a wide variety of subjects, with particular focus on transactional antitrust matters such as mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures. He has guided numerous complicated transactions through the U.S. and foreign antitrust/competition review process.

Michael has experience in some of the largest and most significant transactions in aerospace, telecommunications, consumer products, healthcare, and online advertising industries. Michael also regularly advises clients in connection with civil non-merger conduct investigations.

Michael has represented clients before the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, the European Commission, the Federal Communications Commission, the Department of Defense, and many state attorneys general.

  • UScellular and TDS's proposed US$4.4 billion sale of wireless operations and select spectrum to T-Mobile.
  • The Czechoslovak Group on is US$2.3bn acquisition of The Kinetic Group, being the sporting goods division of of Vista Outdoors Inc.
  • General Electric on numerous, successful worldwide merger clearances, including the US$30 billion sale of GCAS to AerCap and US$20 billion sale of GE Healthcare’s life science business to Danaher.
  • United Technologies’ US$30 billion acquisition of Rockwell Collins.
