Jonathan Zonis is the co-head of the Americas Capital Markets practice and concentrates in representing issuers and underwriters in cross-border equity and debt (including high-yield) offerings.

Jon has been involved in public and private transactions in equity and debt offerings by issuers in a variety of industries including banking, energy, manufacturing, real estate, infrastructure, luxury goods, telecommunications, media and shipping.

  • Advised Citi, JPMorgan, Daiwa and Barclays as underwriters, in connection with a US$800 million SEC registered notes offering by Latin American development bank Corporación Andina de Fomento (CAF).
  • Clifford Chance advised Credit Suisse on the largest ever sovereign debt conversion linked to conservation for the Republic of Ecuador. The transaction involved the issuance of a USD 656 million Galápagos Marine Bond, used to finance a debt conversion for Ecuador whereby USD 1.628 billion of Ecuador's international bonds were exchanged for a USD 656 million loan (insured and guaranteed by DFC and the Inter-American Development Bank).
