Shaun Langhorne

Shaun Langhorne is a restructuring partner based in our Singapore office and has vast experience in complex, multi-stakeholder and cross-border restructuring matters covering contentious and non-contentious situations across the Asia Pacific region.

Shaun focuses on out of court and court supervised restructurings, formal insolvencies, debt trading and portfolio transactions, special situations financings, enforcement and recovery litigation and contingency planning and strategic advice.

He is an INSOL Fellow and is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong and as a barrister and solicitor in Melbourne, Australia. Prior to joining Clifford Chance in May 2020, Shaun was a partner at a global law firm where he started the Singapore restructuring practice and has worked in Australia and Hong Kong.

He is ranked Band 1 in Restructuring/Insolvency: International (Singapore) by Chambers Asia Pacific 2022 and considered a 'Leading Individual' for Restructuring and Insolvency – Foreign Firm by Legal 500

  • Prosafe SE, a Norwegian listed company on its successful restructuring by way of a Singapore Schemes of Arrangement, parallel Norwegian reconstruction process and recognition procedures in various jurisdictions. Under the restructuring, Prosafe SE swapped US$1.1 billion of debt for 99% of Prosafe SE's equity, reinstate US$250 million of a billion-dollar credit facility and US$93 million of a separate smaller facility
  • gategroup Holding AG and gategroup Guarantee Limited, as restructuring counsel in connection with the restructuring of its financial indebtedness by way of a restructuring plan under Part 26A of the UK Companies Act 2006. The case provided a landmark decision of whether or not a Part 26A restructuring plan is an insolvency proceeding. The Group is the world's largest airline catering company and a global leader in the business of providing global airline onboard products, services and solutions
  • a bondholder holding a significant portion of bonds issued by the Pan Brothers group in the Pan Brothers Group restructuring, conducted by way of a Singapore pre-packaged scheme of arrangement. Pan Brothers is one of Indonesia’s largest listed garment and textile manufacturer
  • an ad hoc group of bondholders in the restructuring of the Sritex Group, an Indonesian garment and textile manufacturer, being conducted via Indonesian PKPUs and a proposed Singapore scheme of arrangement
  • a group of aircraft lessors in the proposed restructuring of a regional Indonesian airline
  • various individual lessors in the proposed restructuring of Garuda Airlines
  • an ad hoc group of lessors in the proposed restructuring of Garuda Airlines via an Indonesian PKPU and an English scheme of arrangement
