Patrick Jackson

Patrick Jackson has extensive experience in capital markets, banking and corporate transactions, and certain US regulatory matters involving large Brazilian banks and industrial companies.  He covers complex financings for companies mostly in the agribusiness, energy & infrastructure, oil & gas sectors, including in the green fuels and energy transition spaces generally. 

He has served on the Firm's Global Foundation Board and as Regional Pro Bono Partner in São Paulo and on committees for the Firm's strategy, recruiting and corporate responsibility initiatives.  

  • Advised XP, BTG and BNDES as lenders and shareholders in respect of JBS N.V.'s US$7 billion SEC-registered IPO on the NYSE
  • Advised BNP Paribas, Bofa, Citibank, Credit Agricole, Itau, Santander and other syndicate banks with respect to US$1 billion revolving credit facility for Raizen S.A.
  • Advised BNDES, The Brazilian Development Bank, on its sale of approximately 724 million common shares in the state-owned oil company Petrobras. The offering comprised both common shares in Brazil and abroad and ADRs, and is valued at approximately US$5.2 billion.
  • Advised Banco do Brasil S.A. or it's underwriters on all debt issuances since 2009, including issuances of perpetual non-cumulative junior subordinated notes and senior notes and denominated in various currencies including CHF, Yen and U.S. dollars
  • Advising Samarco Mineração in connection with financial consequences from an environmental incident suffered in late 2015 and potential restructuring of its approximately US$4 billion in outstanding export prepayment loans and notes
  • Advised on the global FCPA risk assessment for a major Brazilian construction conglomerate implicated in Lava Jato corruption investigations, consisting of reviews and analysis of operations in over 29 countries
  • Advised Sumitomo Mitsui Banking in connection with the financing of BTG Pactual's US$758 million acquisition of Globenet's undersea telecom cable system from Oi.
