Elizabeth Richmond is a globally recognised antitrust lawyer, with a practice spanning the full spectrum of antitrust work, from regulatory advice to litigation. She is consistently ranked in legal directories including Chambers, Legal 500, Who's Who Legal, and the Global Competition Review.
In addition to her busy practice, Elizabeth Richmond is a frequent speaker and author. She was Co-Chair of the International Bar Association Antitrust Litigation Working Group between 2018 and 2026, and in 2025 spoke on antitrust litigation topics at the ABA Spring Meeting in Washington DC and the IBA Annual Competition Conference in Florence, Italy.
Prior to joining Clifford Chance, Elizabeth was a partner at a leading Australian law firm where she helped create an innovative dawn raid app to provide clients with a step-by-step tool to deal with a dawn raid as it happens.

- An international bank in respect of FX price manipulation - the only competition class action in Australia.*
- Vodafone Plc in the Federal Court with respect to the merger of TPG and Vodafone Hutchison Australia, opposed by the ACCC.*
- Pacific National in the Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal and High Court of Australia with respect to the acquisition of the Acacia Ridge Intermodal Terminal in Queensland from Aurizon, opposed by the ACCC.*
Cartel investigations and proceedings
- On one of the first criminal cartel matters to be prosecuted by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions concerning shipping lines.*
- A major European high voltage cable supplier with respect to cartel conduct in relation to the supply of high voltage cable to the Snowy Hydro Project.*
- Australia's largest retailer with respect to the cartel conduct of suppliers of laundry detergent.*
- Korean Air Lines in the context of an air cargo cartel.*
Regulatory advice related to competition issues and other matters
- Advised significant gas producers in relation the ACCC's ongoing Gas Inquiry and related inquiries conducted by the ACCC.*
- Advised a variety of large Australian consumer facing entities about Australian Consumer Law issues and other sector relevant regulatory matters on an on-going basis.*
