Alejandro Leon

Alejandro León is a member of the Americas Energy and Infrastructure Group. He focuses his practice on the development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects worldwide with a focus on Latin America.

He has experience in all types of corporate financings, structured finance (asset finance and project finance), trade and export finance involving ECAs.

  • Zuma Energía on the development and financing of the 431MW Reynosa III wind farm awarded under the second Mexican clean energy auction; Americas ECA Finance Deal of the Year, TXF Perfect 10 Deal Awards 2017
  • Zuma Energía on the development and financing of the 125MW Orejana PV project in Hermosillo, state of Sonora, and the 168MW Santa María PV project in Galeana, state of Chihuaha, which were awarded under the second Mexican clean energy auction
  • a syndicate of lenders on the financing through assignment of receivables of the construction of a 791MW CCGT located in Empalme, México
  • Banco Santander and Corporacion Andina de Fomento CAF on the financing for the construction, operation and maintenance of a terminal port PPP project (sponsored by Servinoga, Pattac and Tucumann) in Paracas, Peru
  • Fondo de Deuda para Infraestructuras en Uruguay CAF I on the financing for the construction of Ruta 21 and Ruta 24 road PPP projects (sponsored by Sacyr Concesiones and SACEEM) in Uruguay
  • Administradora de Fondos de Ahorro Previsional on the financing for the construction of Punta Rieles prison in Montevideo, Uruguay (first project bond ever issued and first PPP concession ever awarded in Uruguay)
  • Fotowatio Renewable Ventures on the bridge financing and refinancing for the construction of the 50MW La Jacinta PV project in Salto, Uruguay
  • Bow Power Energy, a subsidiary of Cobra-ACS, on the refinancing for the construction of the 52.8MW Pastorale wind project in Flores, Uruguay
  • Ciemsa and other sponsors on the financing for the construction of the 50MW Talas de Maciel project in Flores, Uruguay
