Stephanie Ohira

Stephanie advises a broad range of clients globally on technology and data matters. She provides strategic advice and supports clients on commercial contracts involving tech.

Stephanie had a prior career as an IT project manager in the investment banking, private banking and wealth management space and is well placed to advise financial services clients on technology matters. She also has in-house experience, having been seconded to a global automotive company.

Stephanie is bilingual in English and Japanese, with experience advising clients in both languages.

Stephanie also has particular experience advising on complex data protection issues in an insolvency context.

Examples of Stephanie's experience include the following:

  • Advised AIA on its transformative investment platform collaboration with BNY Mellon, which involved a long-term strategic outsourcing of critical IT services.  
  • Advised clients on the various aspects of the EU Data Act, including data sharing agreements and the intersection of data privacy and data portability requirements.
  • Advised clients on various data protection matters including in relation to a complex data subject access request, engagement with the UK Information Commissioner's Office, processor due diligence, and data protection impact assessments involving sensitive health data.
