Lindsay acts as counsel to the Firm's team of real estate partners and lawyers, undertaking detailed analysis of legal developments, keeping the real estate team up to date, arranging and delivering training, advising on difficult legal queries and ensuring that the Firm's templates and guidance notes are state of the art, so as to enable our lawyers to respond fast to clients' needs.

Prior to becoming a knowledge lawyer Lindsay was a transactional lawyer in the Firm's Real Estate Practice with a broad client base that included investors, landlords, tenants and developers. Lindsay advised on a range of complex high value commercial property transactions and her expertise included acquisitions and disposals, both domestic and cross-border including pan European transactions, landlord and tenant and development work.

  • Canary Wharf Group plc on a number of major developments, pre-lettings and investment sales and financings on the Canary Wharf Estate, London
  • The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited on its 2013 acquisition from Derwent London of 1-5 Grosvenor Place, Belgravia and the 50/50 joint venture, hotel management, vertical letting and development arrangements with Grosvenor to redevelop the site into a five star hotel (“The Peninsula London”) and high-end residential apartments; and the restructuring of that joint venture in September 2016 and the related variation of the vertical letting structure to entitle HSH to 100% of the profits from the residential elements of the development and the profits from the hotel
  • Horizon Nuclear Power in connection with the development of a new generation of nuclear power facilities in the UK at two sites at Anglesey and Oldbury-on-Severn including land acquisitions, development of offsite facilities and negotiations with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority
  • The Aga Khan Foundation (as owner occupier) on its options to acquire five sites at King’s Cross Central, London for residential, student accommodation, office, retail, cultural, education and hotel use, and on the ongoing development of the same and the Aga Khan University Foundation (as funder) on the forward funding of those sites and infrastructure on the estate
