• Acted for a 'big 4' global professional service firm in defence of a shareholder class action arising out of the demise of an ASX-listed forestry company involving allegations of audit negligence across successive accounting periods, including in connection with Full Court appeal.
• Acting for a director of an ASX listed entity in defence of a shareholder class action commenced for breach of statutory duties and misleading and deceptive conduct, including acting in the related liquidators proceeding.*
• Acting for an insurance broking firm in relation to cross-claims arising from two class actions commenced by debenture holders against the trustee entity involving allegations of breach of trust and statutory duties.*

Employment

• Defended a novel class action brought against one of Australia's largest fast-food franchisees arising out of an alleged failure to provide casual employees with rest pauses.
• Acted for a global labour hire provider in defence of a major class action concerning blue collar workers engaged to provide labour hire services in the black coal mining sector.*
• Acted for an engineering and services provider in defence of a class action involving allegations of underpayment of casual workers engaged by the company.*
• Defended a major retail bank in a test case brought by an employee union on behalf of colleagues who claim to have been required to work unreasonable additional hours in excess of contractual and legislative requirements.*

Litigation Funding

• Acted on proceedings to restrain an employee union from providing commercial funding in support of a class action claim commenced on behalf of union members.*
