Philippe Baert is a Counsel in the Brussels office of Clifford Chance, qualified in Belgium (advocaat / avocat) and in England and Wales (solicitor). He advises on a broad range of cross-border M&A transactions, EU energy law, construction matters, and the development of large-scale infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on the renewable energy sector and the energy transition. He is a leading member of Clifford Chance’s global Construction Group and Clean Hydrogen Taskforce.
Advised DESFA, the Greek gas transmission system operator, on its conclusion of a long-term "umbrella" cooperation agreement with NER JSC Skopje for the development, construction and operation of a 123km gas pipeline interconnection project between Greece and North Macedonia.
Advised ThyssenKrupp on its bid to construct the very first industrial power-to-power gas installation in Belgium (Zeebrugge) converting renewable electricity into green hydrogen through electrolysis.
Advising EuroAsia in connection with the development and construction of the flagship EuroAsia Interconnector project.
Advising Elia in connection with the Modular Offshore Grid projects (MOG I and MOG II), specifically the regulatory and procurement aspects, structuring and negotiation of all project contracts (e.g. EPC, installation and fabrication).
