Gwen Shockey

Virtual Pride Art Gallery 2022 – Americas

Gwen Shockey is a Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist, activist, and educator who is the founder of The Addresses Project, which investigates lesbian and queer space and memory in New York City.

Our exhibition features four of Shockey's artworks: two precisely rendered drawings that document lesbian bars in New York City—The Cubbyhole and Ginger's Bar—and two woodblock prints of the bathroom inside The Cubby Hole.
