Arcus Pride 2020

Celebrating and championing LGBT+ inclusion at Clifford Chance

Pride Month, celebrated globally every June looks very different in 2020.

For our LGBT+ and Allies communities, major celebrations of inclusion like Pride marches, community events, and our very own Arcus Pride Art events have been postponed or cancelled.

At Clifford Chance, we are still committed to celebrating and championing LGBT+ inclusion, and we are excited to invite you to join us this month in celebrating #VirtualPride.

Pride provides us with a timely platform to stand up and reiterate our support for our colleagues and communities.

Now more than ever with #BlackLivesMatter conversations taking place across the globe, we should remind ourselves of the critical role that black people have played in LGBTQ+ history and the importance that inclusion has in the workplace in bringing people together.

This month we are celebrating #VirtualPride with a number of online events and initiatives, encouraging our people to contribute Pride photos, videos and important milestones from their lives.

This site showcases a number of virtual galleries reflecting our collaboration with local artists and clients across the globe. Share the rainbow, share the message, share the history - and enjoy!

We can't wait to celebrate with you.

Why do we need allies?

2020 has highlighted to us that the challenges and opportunities we each encounter are unique. While "we're all in this together" some of us may feel better prepared, or more supported to address the tests and trials of this year. Now more than ever we're reminded of the importance of being an active ally – and that this applies to the many minority groups that make our firm so unique. Take a look at the following video, where Tiernan Brady, our Global Head of Inclusion, talks about why allies are so important.

LGBT-Pro-Bono-Webinar

LGBT+ Pro Bono Webinar

As part of our #VirtualPride celebrations at Clifford Chance, we hosted an LGBT Pro bono work panel discussion with HRC. This looked at how and why Clifford Chance support pro bono projects from around the world, why this matters for everyone and what other firms can do to make the change they want to see in the world.
