Geraint Hughes

Geraint Hughes is a Partner in the firm's Hong Kong office and has spent 17 years in Asia Pacific, including six years as the Singapore Managing Partner. He advises on commercial and corporate law, capital raising (including project finance) and dispute related mandates predominantly in the energy & resources sector.

Geraint is passionate about diversity and inclusiveness in the legal profession and contributes to several committees including the Singapore Academy of Law and National University of Singapore. He is qualified in England and Wales, Hong Kong and the Republic of Ireland, and has advised on transactions in more than 70 countries whilst practicing in Singapore, Hong Kong and London.

  • Advising PNGSDP on its ICSID based arbitration vs. State of Papua New Guinea (2013)
  • Advising China Development Bank on a range of large scale project financings (since 2008)
  • Advising Shell on a variety of downstream divestments across over 20 countries (2002 to date)
  • Advising Chevron and its JV partners on several refinery related matters in South East Asia (1996 to date)
