Elizabeth Kong’s legal practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, anti-competition, capital markets and securities regulations. She has been involved in some of the largest headline transactions in Singapore and the region, and has experience advising on deals of an aggregate value exceeding $20 billion.
She has been noted in Chambers Asia, Legal 500, AsiaLaw Leading Lawyers, Lawyer Monthly and Acquisition International Legal. Clients have commended her for her “high quality of work and turn-around time”, “great professionalism and strong ability to work under stress” and “being focused, committed and a team player at the negotiation table”. She was also listed in Singapore Business Review’s “20 Most Influential 40 and Under Lawyers” and featured in Prestige Singapore’s list of “40 Under 40” outstanding young individuals.
Elizabeth graduated with a Double First in Law from Cambridge University where she won university prizes for best performance in contract law, company law and administrative law, as well as various college prizes and scholarships for outstanding overall performance. Elizabeth is a regular speaker at conferences in her fields of expertise and writes regularly for legal journals. She sits as an Independent Director of Singapore Post Limited, a Trustee of Cambridge Assessment Singapore, a Fellow of the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and an Honorary Member of the Commercial Bar Association of London. She was also invited to be a member of the government-appointed Working Committee to review the future of law in Singapore.
