IJsbrand de Jong has ample experience advising and litigating on various (cross-border) employment law matters. These include individual and collective dismissals, restructurings, transfer of undertaking, works council disputes, executive compensation and employer liability.
- Assisting OBA Group B.V., on downsizing and restructuring its business and mass lay off of almost 40% of its employees, negotiations with the works council and trade unions and subsequent litigation against its works council at the Enterprise Court of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal (Ondernemingskamer). The case was won by Floris van de Bult, IJsbrand de Jong and Marije Senne.
- Assisting Prosus N.V. on a great variety of strategic employment matters, which included board room advice (such as the Board's new remuneration policy and incentive schemes), reorganizations of Prosus' businesses and advising on the dismissal and appointment of new senior leaders.
- Assisting the board of HES International on strategic employment matters and board room issues in the Netherlands and abroad, including various issues with its works councils, redundancies, compliance matters and terminations of senior management. HES International is one of Europe’s largest independent bulk handling companies for liquid and dry bulk products.
