A key focus of Florian's work lies on structuring and negotiating complex IP related agreements worldwide for the life sciences industry (involving pharmaceutical, medical device products and services), the automotive and other technology-heavy industries.
Florian regularly represents some of the world's largest companies in the above mentioned industries and provides advice in the areas of strategic IP management, IP licensing regimes, IP collaboration ('R&D') and joint venture structures and other IP related contractual considerations. He is also involved in large M&A transactions and advises on all IP related questions arising in the course of tech-related transactions and projects, in particular in the healthcare and life sciences context.
The combination of knowledge in the technical, IP and commercial field puts Florian in a perfect position to provide solutions for multiple 'digital' challenges and scenarios, be they contentious or non-contentious.
Ein Schwerpunkt der Tätigkeit von Florian Reiling besteht in der Strukturierung und Verhandlung von komplexen IP-bezogenen Vertragswerken in der Life-Sciences Industrie (Beratung u.a. von pharmazeutischen Unternehmen und Medizinprodukteherstellern), der Automobilindustrie und anderen technologie-intensiven Industrien.
Florian Reiling unterstützt in diesem Zusammenhang regelmäßig weltweit tätige und führende Unternehmen und berät zu Fragen des strategischen IP Managements, zu Lizenzierungskonstellationen, Entwicklungskooperationen, Joint Venture Gründungen und anderen IP relevanten Themenkomplexen. Er ist ferner in große M&A Projekte eingebunden und ist mit den relevanten Fragestellungen von Tech-Transaktionen, insbesondere im Kontext der Healthcare- und Life-Sciences-Industrie bestens vertraut.

- A US pharma company in a patent litigation concerning alleged breach of a patent license agreement. Proceeding involves highly complex US and German patent law aspects as well as US discovery law issues
- A technology company in multi jurisdictional trademark law disputes concerning the cancellation of four disputed brands. Proceedings were, inter alia, pending in Australia, France, Germany and the UK. In Germany, the Federal Court of Justice (Bundesgerichtshof, BGH) in Karlsruhe decided on the matter and confirmed the validity of the German trademark registration which accordingly became valid. Parallel proceedings concerning the European trademark application were pending at the General Court (EGC)
- A leading company of pharmaceutical products and pesticides in their dispute against a parallel importer regarding the importation of pesticides before the Regional Court Düsseldorf. Proceeding involved complicated questions of law regarding the scope of obligations of a parallel importer to examine a product
- A German photovoltaic Company and draft of various patent licensing agreements, research and development contracts in the area of photovoltaics
