Clifford Chance advises a syndicate of banks on financing the first Biomass Plant in Argentina

International law firm Clifford Chance has advised a syndicate of banks consisting of CIFI (lender and arranger), Banco Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Banco Itaú Argentina and Compañía Española de Financiación del Desarrollo COFIDES in connection with the financing of an 18 MW Biomass Plant located in the province of Corrientes, Argentina, using a multijurisdictional team of lawyers coordinated from Madrid and led by José Guardo, head of the Spanish Banking and Finance practice area, and Epifanio Pérez, partner of the Banking and Finance practice area.

This project, completed with the support of a Spanish development bank, BAS Projects Corporation, S.L. and the borrower Genergíabio Corrientes, S.A., creates the first biomass plant in Argentina.
Clifford Chance's multijurisdictional team advising on the transaction/project was composed of José Guardo, head of the Spanish Banking and Finance practice area, Epifanio Pérez, partner of the Banking and Finance practice area, and the associates Eduardo Sánchez, Gabriel Miranda and Beatriz González from the Madrid office, and Jessica Springsteen and Eli Keene from the Washington office.
