Clifford Chance advises EDF Energies Nouvelles on joint venture distributed solar project in China
Leading international law firm Clifford Chance advised EDF Energies Nouvelles on the establishment of a joint venture with Asia Clean Capital (ACC) to build and operate a portfolio of distributed rooftop solar projects in China.
EDF Energies Nouvelles is the renewable subsidiary of EDF Group, one of the world's largest electricity companies with a presence in China for more than 30 years. ACC is considered China's leading multinational rooftop solar developer.
Partner Kelly Gregory led on the deal and said, "China is now the world's largest producer of photovoltaic power. Our team was pleased to assist EDF Energies Nouvelles with yet another strategic investment into China's dynamic renewable energy market."
Kelly was supported by senior associate Jay Liang.
In 2016, the Firm advised EDF Energies Nouvelles on its acquisition of a majority stake in UPC Asia Wind Management which develops and builds wind projects in China.
