Clifford Chance advises on Vietnam's US$1 billion sovereign bond issuance, Vietnam's first since 2010

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has advised Deutsche Bank, HSBC and Standard Chartered as the joint lead managers on the Socialist Republic of Vietnam's US$1 billion 4.8% 10-year bond issuance. The issuance was done in conjunction with a cash tender offer for outstanding bonds with an option to switch into the new issue or receive cash for notes due in 2016 and 2020, on which Clifford Chance also advised.

Partner Crawford Brickley led on the deal and said, "We were delighted to assist on Vietnam's first sovereign bond issuance since 2010. The transaction was very well received by the market and a great success for Vietnam and we are hopeful that the momentum will continue in this market where we have been active for many years."

The Clifford Chance team also included consultant Thomas Kollar, senior associate Naveen Pogula and associate Bertrand Law.
