SMCR Manager is an interactive online tool which combines our legal expertise and an innovative workflow process to guide users through the application and ongoing requirements of the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR). Following your submission to the FCA, this tool will provide your firm with continuing support to ensure you remain compliant.
The extension of the SMCR replaced the Approved Persons Regime (APR) from 9 December 2019 for all FCA solo-regulated firms including asset managers, investment firms and consumer credit firms. The aim of SMCR is to reduce harm to consumers and strengthen market integrity by making firms and individuals at those firms more accountable for their conduct and competence. There are 3 key components which apply to financial service firms, the conduct rules, the senior managers regime and the certification regime.
As well as the core parts of the regime, there are ongoing requirements for firms after their application to comply with including continued fitness and propriety checks and certification of individuals on an annual basis. SMCR Manager includes notification options to remind you and make sure you meet these key dates.
This tool has been designed in collaboration with clients and industry bodies so it has an intuitive user interface and workflow process.
