What is Create+65?

Create+65 is Clifford Chance's legal technology innovation lab for Asia Pacific.

Based in Singapore, it's the first of its kind and was set up in partnership with the Future Law Innovation Programme (FLIP), with the support of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).

What is Create+65 Innovators?

Create+65 Innovators is a dynamic initiative where start-ups can collaborate with Clifford Chance to explore tech solutions for the legal sector.

Who can apply?

Create+65 Innovators is open to early stage tech start-ups from ideation through to revenue generating stage. The start-up can be based anywhere in the world, but demonstration and collaboration activities will take place in Singapore. Applications for the first round of Create+65 Innovators closed on 12 April. What does the winner of Create+65 Innovators get?

The winning start-up will be offered the opportunity to participate in a 12-week collaboration program. Details of this collaboration program will be provided to the winning start-up separately, but will include support and access to resources tailored to the winning start-up's needs, for example, mentoring, time with lawyers to better understand needs, access to clients and anonymised sample data. There will also be opportunities to meet with investors, other start-ups and seek legal advice regarding the proposed product.

Who selects the winner?

The winner will be selected by a panel which will include Clifford Chance Global Head of Innovation and Business Change Bas Boris Visser, CEO of Clifford Chance Applied Solutions Jeroen Plink and Singapore Managing Partner Kai Schneider. 

Will Clifford Chance take an equity stake in start-ups that participate?

Clifford Chance will not initially take an equity stake in start-ups who participate.
