The environment and contributing to a more sustainable world is important to how we advise our clients and manage our business.
Environmental sustainability is an important issue for our clients and our people. We aim to provide an environmentally efficient service, by embracing systems and initiatives that support better use of energy and resources, and reduce CO2 emissions. We regularly advise clients on environmental matters and support our people in undertaking pro bono work that helps strengthen their capabilities in this area of law.
Our environment strategy has two areas of focus.
The first is managing our footprint, which encompasses our efforts to reduce our environmental impact. As part of this, we have established targets of a 5% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions, and a 10% reduction in the procurement of paper globally by 2021.
The second is contributing to sustainability, which focuses on what we can do to help the environment within our local communities. Our strategic objectives are set out in our global environmental policy.
Our long established Environment Group is committed to assisting our clients with the challenges posed by ever stricter national, European and international environmental regulation. The team brings real expertise, technical understanding and entrepreneurial thinking to this complex and rapidly changing area of law. Learn more about the team here.
