Since 2008, the Clifford Chance Foundation has provided a focused and coordinated approach to our charitable giving. We provide funds at a global and local level to international and community charities covering long-term commitments and one-off payments.
Of the Foundation's annual budget of £1.2 million, £700,000 supports the development of projects by our global pro bono and community outreach NGO clients, and funds our disaster relief support for Save the Children and our Access to Justice Award.
The remainder is distributed by each of our offices and helps numerous projects annually. Donations are made to wide range of charitable organisations, including supporting the establishment of a toll-free counselling hotline to combat violence towards women for a German-Iraqi NGO to supporting the '160 Girls' project in taking the Kenyan government to court for failing to prosecute the alleged attackers of 160 rape victims.
Applications to the Clifford Chance Foundation are welcome but must be championed by a member of the firm. All employees are able to download the application form from the Firm's intranet site.
