Wealth management & private banking

Starting Area/Sector information

Global and regional banks continue to expand their private banking operations, keen to capture their share of strong economic growth while attempting to stay ahead of the many regulatory changes in destination jurisdictions post financial crisis.

As the private banking sector has grown, so have the political, fiscal, tax and regulatory pressures upon it. New regulations are likely to require bankers to keep more extensive records, pay more attention to ensuring that clients’ money is invested in line with their objectives and financial circumstances and that they understand investment products and, importantly, their risks – even if they are professional investors.

Clifford Chance's private banking ability draws on its experience across investment management and banks and financial institutions sectors around the globe.
