Twenty-five member states of the European Union, including the Czech Republic and Slovakia recently signed an Agreement on a Unified Patent Court ("UPC"). The agreement (if ratified by the required number of participating states) together with Regulation No. 1257/2012 and Regulation No. 1260/2012 (jointly called the unitary patent package), shall enable the creation of unitary EU patent protection.
