On 18 December 2009, the Upper House of the German Parliament (Bundesrat) passed the Growth Acceleration Act (Wachstumsbeschleunigungsgesetz) after the Lower House (Bundestag) had passed the Act on 4 December 2009. Most provisions will take effect as of 1 January 2010.
