Ilse van Gasteren specialises in restructurings & insolvencies, including advice on security enforcement strategies, debt-for-equity swaps, creditor compositions (including WHOA), contingency planning, and going concern sales in insolvency scenarios. She acts for financial institutions, investors and also borrowers on complex local and cross-border restructurings.
Furthermore, Ilse is ambassador of the global Diversity & Inclusion strategy of Clifford Chance and chair of the CC Amsterdam D&I group.

- Advised LyondellBasell in the worldwide restructuring, involving a Dutch share pledge enforcement process together with a Chaper 11 procedure in the United States. - 2011
- Advised Senior Lenders in the landmark restructuring of Schoeller Arca Systems, which included the first implemented Dutch share pledge enforcement restructuring leaving behind the Mezzanine Lenders. - 2009
