Ying White heads Clifford Chance's Funds and Investment Management Group in China. Ying has extensive experience in advising and structuring China focused private equity and hedge funds in Greater China, QFII and RQFII funds, QDLP structures, and QDII products.

Ying also advises Chinese sovereign wealth funds and state-owned banks in their outbound investments.

Ying was a legal counsel at the World Bank in Washington DC for seven years before relocating back to China where she headed a U.S. law firm's China funds practice for five years.

She is actively sought by industry associations and governmental agencies at national and local levels on various legal issues in relation to RMB funds and private equity regulation.
 

Relevant experience

  • Advised a U.S. investor in investing in a quasi-QFLP (RMB) Fund in western China
  • Advised one of the largest PE funds in China on the formation of its second USD master fund
  • Advised a Chinese fund manager on the formation of an offshore hedge fund focusing on the consumer goods sector in China
  • Advised multiple leading USA and UK hedge funds managers in structuring and establishing QDLP funds

  • She also serves as an advisor to the Beijing Private Equity Association and China Association of Private Equity on RMB funds and private equity regulations.
