Our award-winning Islamic Finance team has led a number of significant and high profile Islamic financing transactions over recent years. We advise on new and innovative Islamic structures and work closely with Islamic scholars to refine and create new Islamic financial products across all classes.
Asset Finance
We advise on all aspects of asset finance including finance and operating lease transactions, Islamic financing and structured financing. In addition, we regularly act as local counsel for financiers, operating lessors and export-credit agencies on financings for airlines based in the UAE.

Our projects team has expertise in all aspects of project finance across a range of sectors including petrochemicals, power, metals and mining, oil and gas, water, transportation, telecommunications and other infrastructure.

Highlights of our recent experience include:
- Saudi Kayan petrochemicals project - advising on the US$6 billion financing for the Saudi Kayan petrochemicals project.
- Ma'aden Phosco - advising all financiers on the US$5.5 billion multi-sourced mining and fertiliser project in Saudi Arabia.
- APPC Polypropylene Project - advising the project company, Advanced Polypropylene Company on all aspects of the development, construction and financing of a US$780 million propane dehydrogenation and polypropylene plant in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
- Equate Petrochemical Plant - advising the arrangers in connection with a US$1.2 billion project financing in Kuwait. This was one of the first projects to use Islamic finance as a major source of funding on a pari passu basis with conventional financing.
- National Water Company - advising NWC in relation to its planned PPP programme for the privatisation of the water and wastewater sector in Riyadh.
- Al Waha - advising the project company on the financing of the Al Waha PP-PDH petrochemicals project, the first limited recourse greenfield project not to use any conventional bank debt.
- Saudi Tabreed - advised the sponsors, Saudi Tabreed on a SAR 1.84 billiong BOO/BOT district cooling project in Saudi Arabia.
