Oil prices have risen significantly over recent months and an increasing number of strategic alliances have been forged to provide greater financial, political and technical resources. The rise in oil prices has also been coupled with a realignment of focus by a number of national and international oil companies, including a reassessment of regional investment priorities. As a result the prospect of M&A deals in the sector is growing, with increased opportunities in the mid and downstream sectors as well as in pure upstream exploration activities, and in particular opportunities for independents. At the same time, finance providers appear to have developed an increased appetite to fund these opportunities, notwithstanding the heightened focus (as a result of recent events) on the environmental challenges and responsibilities that go with the sector. This webinar will focus on the key issues to consider, from a sector perspective, when trying to execute a transaction against this backdrop.
Speakers: Corporate partner David Lewis (London), Finance partner Russell Wells (London) and Senior partner Malcolm Sweeting (London) together with Bleddyn Phillips (Moscow), the head of our global Oil & Gas sector focus.
