Clifford Chance advised International Beverage on the acquisition of Larsen Cognac

International Beverage has entered into an agreement with Anora Group plc to acquire its Larsen Cognac business. The proposed acquisition includes Larsen’s production site and eau-de-vie maturation stock in Cognac, France, as well as its cognac brands Larsen, Renault and Monopol, plus brandy brand Ibis.

This acquisition forms part of International Beverage’s strategy to expand its portfolio of premium spirits brands. It also marks the group’s first move into the Cognac category.

Clifford Chance advised International Beverage on this transaction with a team composed of Fabrice Cohen, partner, Clément Delaruelle, Alexis Mesnildrey, Julie Brissy and Jean-Christophe Urrutia--Calvet, associates, on the corporate aspects; as well as Alexandre Lagarrigue, partner, and Pierre Goyat, counsel, on the tax aspects. International Beverage a conclu un accord avec Anora Group plc afin d'acquérir son activité Larsen Cognac. L’acquisition envisagée comprend le site de production et le stock de maturation d’eau-de-vie de Larsen à Cognac, en France, ainsi que ses marques de cognac Larsen, Renault et Monopol, et la marque de brandy Ibis.

Cette acquisition fait partie de la stratégie d’International Beverage visant à élargir son portefeuille de marques de spiritueux haut de gamme. Il s’agit également du premier pas de ce groupe dans l'industrie du Cognac.
