Clifford Chance strengthens M&A practice in the Middle East with the return of partner Daud Khan

Clifford Chance welcomes Daud Khan as partner to its Corporate/M&A practice in the Middle East as of 1 May 2022. Daud is returning to the UAE from Clifford Chance's London office (after having been on secondment in the UAE as a senior associate from 2011-2014).

Daud will be based in Clifford Chance's Abu Dhabi office.

Daud brings expertise and experience from a 17-year career at Clifford Chance advising on cross-border M&A, investments, joint ventures and corporate restructurings, most recently working with the Middle East team in advising the Creditors of NMC Healthcare on its ground-breaking USD 7 billion financial restructuring. Daud also advises on corporate governance matters and sits on the Clifford Chance's global ESG Board where he leads the governance pillar. Daud recently spent a year as interim Group General Counsel and Company Secretary of easyJet plc in the UK.

Clifford Chance has one of the largest M&A teams in the Middle East, led by nine partners in our Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Riyadh offices, in addition to two M&A partners of our affiliated firm in Saudi Arabia, AS&H Law Firm. The team has consistently been ranked in Tier 1 with all of The Legal 500, Chambers Global and IFLR directories for a number of years and was recently named the MENA M&A Legal Adviser of the Year at the Mergermarket European M&A Awards in 2022.
