Clifford Chance advises Lakestar on series B investment in Isar Aerospace

International law firm Clifford Chance has advised Lakestar Growth as lead investor in the Series B funding round of Munich-based rocket company Isar Aerospace. In addition to Lakestar, a number of existing and new investors also participated in the funding round, which had an overall volume of 75 million euros.

Isar Aeropace, originally a spin-off of the Technical University of Munich, aspires to be the first private European company to compete in the global satellite market. Isar Aerospace is developing a micro-satellite launcher called "Spectrum", which is expected to be significantly smaller and more cost-effective than those currently available on the market. The commercial launch of the first rocket is planned for early 2022. With the funds from the successful Series B financing, the company intends to further invest in research, development and production of the Spectrum rockets.

Die internationale Anwaltssozietät Clifford Chance hat Lakestar Growth als Lead Investor bei der Series-B-Finanzierungsrunde des Münchener Raketenunternehmens Isar Aerospace beraten. Neben Lakestar beteiligte sich eine Reihe bestehender und neuer Investoren an der Finanzierungsrunde, die ein Volumen von 75 Millionen Euro hatte.

Isar Aeropace, ein Spin-off der Technischen Universität München, strebt an, das erste private europäische Unternehmen auf dem globalen Satellitenmarkt zu sein. Derzeit entwickelt Isar Aeropace eine Mikrosatelliten-Trägerrakete namens "Spectrum", die deutlich kleiner und kostengünstiger werden soll als die bisher auf dem Markt erhältlichen Modelle. Der kommerzielle Start der ersten Trägerrakete ist für Anfang 2022 geplant. Mit den Mitteln aus der erfolgreichen Series-B-Finanzierung will das Unternehmen weiter in Forschung, Entwicklung und Produktion der Spectrum-Rakete investieren.
