Clifford Chance advises Carrefour on the acquisition of the start-up Quitoque
Carrefour announced that it has acquired a majority stake in the start-up Quitoque, one of the French pioneers in Foodtech.
Created in 2014, Quitoque is the French leader in home-delivered meal kits. The company, which has 60 employees, delivered nearly 3 million meals throughout France in 2017.
This investment, which allows Carrefour to expand its food e-commerce offering, is fully in line with the group’s ambition of creating a benchmark omnichannel model and of becoming the world leader in the food transition for all.
Following the transaction, Quitoque will remain managed by its co-founders who will continue to develop the company alongside Carrefour.
Clifford Chance advised Carrefour on this operation with a team led by Mathieu Remy and Marianne Pezant, partners, assisted by Emmanuel Mimin, counsel, and Isaure Sander, associate.

Le groupe Carrefour a annoncé une prise de participation majoritaire dans la start-up Quitoque, un des pionniers français de la Foodtech.
Créé en 2014, Quitoque est le leader français de la livraison à domicile de paniers-repas à cuisiner. La société, qui compte 60 employés, a livré près de 3 millions de repas dans toute la France en 2017.
Cette prise de participation, qui permet à Carrefour d’étendre son offre en e-commerce alimentaire, reflète également l’ambition du groupe de construire un modèle omnicanal de référence et de devenir le leader mondial de la transition alimentaire pour tous.
A l’issue de l’opération, Quitoque restera dirigée par ses co-fondateurs qui poursuivront le développement de la société aux côtés de Carrefour.
