Clifford Chance advises Natixis on the signature of an infrastructure and aviation co-investment agreement with Samsung Life Insurance and Samsung Asset Management
Samsung Life Insurance Co., Ltd., Samsung Asset Management Co., Ltd and Natixis S.A. have signed a cooperation agreement to co-invest in infrastructure and aviation debt originated by Natixis.
Under the terms of the agreement, signed on Tuesday 19th April 2016, the two Samsung Group entities target to invest USD 500 million over five years into this asset class. Samsung Life will invest on its own behalf, while Samsung Asset Management will place the loans among other Korean institutional investors.
This is the sixth such agreement signed by Natixis with institutional investors across Europe and Asia, as part of the bank’s pioneering model to open the infrastructure and aviation debt asset class to non-bank financial institutions on a large scale. It demonstrates the increasing financing disintermediation.

Samsung Life Insurance Co., Ltd., Samsung Asset Management Co., Ltd et Natixis S.A. ont signé un accord de coopération pour co-investir dans la dette d'infrastructures et d'aviation.
Selon les termes de l'accord, signé le mardi 19 avril 2016, les deux entités du Groupe Samsung visent à investir 500 millions de dollars sur cinq ans dans cette classe d'actifs. Samsung Life investira pour son propre compte, tandis que Samsung Asset Management placera les prêts auprès d'autres investisseurs institutionnels coréens.
Il s'agit du sixième accord signé par Natixis avec des investisseurs institutionnels en Europe et en Asie. Il s'inscrit dans le cadre du modèle pionnier de Natixis d'ouvrir à grande échelle ces catégories d'actifs aux institutions financières non bancaires, et démontre plus généralement la désintermédiation croissante de ces financements.
