Clifford Chance global co-head of Project Finance, Nicholas Wong, relocates to Singapore

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance announced today that co-head of the firm's Worldwide Projects Group, Nicholas Wong, will join the Singapore office from 2 January. Nick's move signals the growth and importance of development projects in Asia Pacific and further strengthens our tier one project finance team in Singapore and the region.

Peter Charlton, Regional Managing Partner for Asia Pacific said, "I'm delighted to welcome Nick to Asia Pacific. Given the importance of the Energy Resource sector in the region, Nick will be a great addition to our growing team."

Singapore Managing Partner Geraint Hughes adds, "I've had the pleasure of working with Nick on a number of high-profile Energy and Resource projects and transactions over the years. He is very well regarded by clients and widely recognised by the industry as a leading practitioner globally. His international experience will be invaluable to clients seeking the successful financing of projects in Asia Pacific and beyond."

Nick has over 18 years of experience in project financing, energy regulation, developing project structures, joint ventures, PPP and procurement. He acts for sponsors, banks, export credit agencies, multilateral financial institutions and development banks. Nick also has in-depth global expertise having worked at Clifford Chance in London, Washington, Frankfurt and Paris.

Nick said, "I am very excited by the enormous number of opportunities in the region, including assisting our clients with investment opportunities in Asia Pacific and elsewhere in the world. We have a terrific team of projects specialists in the region, which is fully integrated within our worldwide group, ensuring seamless global coverage for our clients."

Clifford Chance has made several investments in the project finance space with the addition of specialist project finance partner Ross Howard to Tokyo last year, the promotion to partner of Perth-based Philip Sealey and Bangkok-based Joseph Tisuthiwongse in May this year, and the promotion to partner of Matt Buchanan in Singapore in 2013.
