Clifford Chance appoints 21 new partners
Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has today announced the election of 21 lawyers to its global partnership. The new partners are drawn from across the firm's international network and from across all six practice areas, with expertise spanning a broad range of products and sectors.
A significant number of the new partners are focused on supporting the firm's clients in growth economies. Seven of the promotions are in the firm's Asia Pacific offices, and other of the new partners have built strong practices advising clients in evolving major markets in Africa, Latin America and the Middle East as well as in the mature Western markets in Europe and the US. Reflecting the firm's emphasis on mobility, a significant number have already spent time working in multiple Clifford Chance offices during their time in the firm, gaining important exposure to different jurisdictions and client environments.
Matthew Layton, Clifford Chance Managing Partner Elect, comments, "An international mindset and an ability to grasp the nuances of different markets and sectors are a pre-requisite of a Clifford Chance partner. This year's cohort of new partners can also already claim impressive reputations in their areas of expertise and extremely strong client relationships. I congratulate each of them on their achievements thus far and wish them highly successful and rewarding careers in the Clifford Chance partnership."
The promotions will take effect from 1 May 2014 and will bring the total number of partners in the firm to 587.
