Clifford Chance launches fourth annual Intelligent Aid competition for students

Prizes include places on a Clifford Chance vacation scheme for 20 students, and a charitable donation and £5,000 towards paying university fees for the overall winner

Clifford Chance is again running Intelligent Aid, an essay competition for UK university students, as part of the firm's 2013/14 graduate recruitment programme.

Open to all undergraduates and post graduates studying in the UK irrespective of degree discipline, the competition is a chance to demonstrate their intellect, creativity and understanding of this year's topic – growth economies – inspired by the rising importance of these countries.

To enter the competition, students must first answer the following question in 500 words or less: "Economic growth in markets like China, Africa, Russia and Latin America continues to present new opportunities. How should leading international law firms be adapting their strategies in light of this growth? You can base your answer on specific geographies and sectors."

Answers should be submitted via the firm's website, www.cliffordchance.com/intelligentaid, by 31 January 2014 and the 40 best entrants will be invited to present their ideas to a panel of judges at Clifford Chance's London offices.

The most compelling presentation will win the ultimate prize of a place on a vacation scheme, £5,000 towards their University fees, and the opportunity to make a £1000 donation to a selected charity. A further 19 winners will also win a place on Clifford Chance's vacation scheme in August 2014.
