Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has advised Wilmar International, Asia's leading agribusiness group, in its purchase from Société Nationale d'Investissement of a 27.5% equity stake in Cosumar, a company listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange and third largest producer of sugar in Africa. The transaction amounted to MAD2.3 billion (approximately USD263 million).

Wilmar International is a worldwide leader in the edible oils and sugar business, from origination to distribution and is present in over 50 countries. With a market capitalization of USD18 billion, the group is ranked amongst the largest listed companies by market capitalisation on the Singapore Stock Exchange. Its worldwide turnover for FY2012 was  USD45 billion.
